Indiana’s Pork Tenderloin Wins Taste of America 2015

Washington, D.C. (June 12, 2015) – CQ Roll Call announced today that, after five weeks and four rounds of voting, Indiana’s Pork Tenderloin has won Roll Call’s fifth annual Taste of America contest. The Pork Tenderloin was celebrated on June 11 at Taste of America Elite Eight reception held prior to the Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game.

A new entry to the Taste of America bracket, the Pork Tenderloin dominated throughout the competition, with a strong social media campaign that pushed it into the final round of the competition by defeating Illinois Italian Beef. Indiana’s signature dish soundly defeated the other Elite Eight finalists including: Oregon Blackberry Pie, Maine Lobster Roll, Arizona Pork Chimichangas, Illinois Deep Dish Pizza, Florida Key Lime Pie, Tennessee Memphis BBQ and second-place finisher, Maryland Crab Cakes.

Founding sponsor, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, recommends enjoying English Brown Ale with the Pork Tenderloin.

In its fifth year, the Taste of America competition pitted foods from around the country against each other in a March Madness-style bracket. Votes were collected over the course of four rounds and five weeks for the coveted Roll Call Taste of America trophy and bragging rights for the next year.
