How the Government Pays for Health Care: Putting Quality into the Equation
In this one-hour webinar, CQ Roll Call’s managing editor for the health team, Adriel Bettelheim and reporters, Melissa Attias and Kerry Young, will discuss how government health programs like Medicare and Medicaid pay doctors, hospitals and other medical providers, and how those fees are increasingly being tied to the quality of care that’s delivered, not just how many tests and procedures are ordered.
Bettelheim, Attias and Young, the authors of an upcoming ebook about the topic, will cover the continued efforts to replace Medicare’s oft-criticized formula for paying doctors and legislative efforts underway to come up with a “doc fix” before a temporary payment patch expires on March 31.
