Washington D.C. (June 28, 2016) – Roll Call announced that it will host a policy discussion on June 29, 2016 at the Liaison Capitol Hill to engage the topic of Arctic Offshore Investment: perspectives on the development of Alaska’s Outer Shelf.
As the Department of Interior prepares to present its Proposed Final Five-Year Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing, of critical interest to the proposal’s stakeholders are the opportunities and risks of developing Alaska’s offshore resources. With the possibility of new lease sales brought into consideration, an important question must be raised: What are the economic, social, and environmental implications of new offshore development for the state of Alaska and the lower 48?
Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon will speak at the event.
A panel discussion moderated by Ed Felker, Director of CQ Now will feature Joseph W. Ralston, Former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO; Leah Dohaney, Senior Campaign Director of Alaska Wilderness League; Rosetta Alcantra, President of E3 Environmental LLC.
“At CQ Roll Call, we know well the benefits of using new delivery systems to convey our trusted and unbiased coverage of politics and policy. We’re pleased that Arctic Energy Center chose us as a partner for this exciting and informative event,” said David Ellis, CQ Roll Call Chief Content Officer.
