CQ Roll Call Hosts Rewriting the Rules Reception Honoring 25 Most Powerful Women in Congress

Washington, D.C. (May 18, 2015) – CQ Roll Call will host a reception at the Capitol Visitor Center on Tuesday, May 19 honoring the women featured in the ebook, Powerful Women: The 25 Most Influential Women in Congress. This is event is sponsored by Procter & Gamble.

Powerful Women gives readers a brief history of women in Congress and provides an inside look at who has heft in Congress, why they do and how they wield their power, with in-depth profiles of the 25 women on the list and exclusive color photographs. The book also looks at the five freshmen on the rise, women lawmakers who are making their mark in Congress in their inaugural terms in Washington.

The Rewriting the Rules reception will toast the women honored in the book with remarks from powerful women at CQ Roll Call, The Economist and Procter & Gamble, as well as two of the honorees. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) will offer remarks. Also featured in the program will be Beth Bronder, senior vice president and publisher for CQ Roll Call; Christina Bellantoni, editor-in-chief of Roll Call; Zanny Minton Beddoes, editor of The Economist; and Carolyn Tastad, group president, North America for Procter & Gamble.
