CQ Roll Call Announces Launch of New Series Featuring Powerful Women In State Government

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 20, 2016) – CQ Roll Call announced today the launch of The 25 Most Influential Women in State Politics, a new editorial series from the CQ Roll Call newsroom profiling powerful women at the state level. The profiles will appear in the Roll Call print edition and on its website and will include unique perspective on Democrats and Republicans.

In this series, CQ Roll Call will profile powerful women in state government, on the campaign trail and behind the scenes to get an on-the-ground perspective of how these influential women are affecting change around the country.  A total of 25 women will be profiled in the months leading up to the national political conventions.

“CQ Roll Call has expanded its coverage of the states because they are the true laboratories of democracy,” said David Ellis, CQ Roll Call’s Chief Content Officer. “This series will focus on the people behind new ideas and show how those rising stars will shape the nation’s future”

The series, underwritten by Procter & Gamble, will culminate with two receptions, co-hosted by Procter & Gamble, honoring these powerful women at the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention.  These high profile gatherings provide convention goers the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of members of Congress, political operatives and state level officials representing the next generation of women in politics.

“As the action heats up on the campaign trail and in convention cities, we are pleased to be partnering with P&G to recognize the women outside the Washington Beltway who are making things happen,” said Beth Bronder, Publisher at CQ Roll Call. “We share P&G’s interest in the work being done by these exceptional public officials and appreciate P&G’s generous support of a program to recognize them.”

“As a Company dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls, we are proud to recognize the achievements of women in public service who are making a difference in communities across the country,” said Carolyn Brehm, Vice President – Global Government Relations and Public Policy at P&G.  “We believe these stories will help empower and inspire future generations of women leaders to even greater levels of success in both the public and private sector.”
