CQ Roll Call Announces Business Roundtable as Exclusive Sponsor of Election Impact Conference
Washington, D.C. (Oct. 28, 2014) – CQ Roll Call announced today that Business Roundtable will be the exclusive sponsor of the CQ Roll Call Election Impact Conference on Nov. 6, 2014 at the Liaison Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
“In electing a new Congress, voters will be sending a message to Washington, not just about government, but also about the direction of the U.S. economy,” said John Engler, Business Roundtable’s president. “Business Roundtable is pleased to sponsor these CQ Roll Call discussions and analysis of the determining factors in the elections and what those results mean for the future.”
“CQ Roll Call couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering with Business Roundtable on our signature post election event,” said Beth Bronder, senior vice president and publisher at CQ Roll Call. “We’re equally pleased to have a respected leader like John Engler join us at the podium to open the program. As chief advocates for industry, when he and Business Roundtable speak, Washington listens.”
The conference features a morning keynote conversation with Guy Cecil, executive director of the DSCC, and Rob Collins, executive director of the NRSC, who will be sitting down together for the first time after the elections. Former Rep. Thomas M. Davis (R-VA) and former Gov. Ted Strickland (D-OH) will join the conference for the afternoon keynote, a bipartisan conversation putting the elections in context and looking forward to the legislative year ahead. Roll Call Editor-in-Chief Christina Bellantoni will moderate both conversations.
The conference will also feature opening remarks from Roll Call contributor Stuart Rothenberg of the Rothenberg Political Report, and panels moderated by Roll Call Politics Editor Shira T. Center and Roll Call Senior Editor David Hawkings. CQ Roll Call’s Abby Livingston, Niels Lesniewski, Emily Ethridge and Megan Scully, along with Nathan Gonzales from the Rothenberg Political Report, Perry Bacon Jr. from NBC News, Huffington Post’s Mark Blumenthal and Washington Examiner’s David Drucker will also participate in the event.
